If you listen to your body when it whispers, you will never have to listen to it scream. – Unknown
You may hear your yoga teacher say, “Listen to your body” or “Honor your body and if a pose hurts, don’t force it.” It’s easier to abide by this when someone is giving you permission to be easy on your body and notice your limits. We often push through, forge ahead, and muscle our way through things. Yoga is not like any other activity that way. Asana, or poses, deepen only when we let go and ease into the poses. The more we strive and strain, the more our body won’t let us get into the deeper form of the pose. The next time you are on your mat, invite your body to release and melt into the pose.
